The EDC@20 Entrepreneurship Awards has been specially created as part of the 20th anniversary activities to celebrate outstanding individual entrepreneurs and groups who have made significant contributions to the mission of EDC as well as the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the SME sector in Nigeria.

General Eligibility Criteria for Award Nomination
Must be entrepreneurs who have founded or co-founded a business.
The business should have been in operation for a minimum of 5 years.
Candidates can be nominated from any industry or sector.
Nominations are to be made by second or third parties.

Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur within the alumni community
Criteria
- The awardee must be an active EDC alumnus.
- Must have demonstrated exceptional leadership in her industry.
- She must have won at least 1 industry/sector-based award/recognition.
- Evidence of social impact in her community
- Should have minimum of 5 employees.

Outstanding Man Entrepreneur of the Year
Criteria
- The awardee must be an active EDC alumnus.
- Must have demonstrated exceptional leadership in his industry.
- He must have won at least 1 industry/sector-based award/recognition.
- Evidence of social impact in his community
- Should have minimum of 5 employees.

EDC Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) of the year
Criteria
- BDSP must have provided a committed and dedicated service to SMEs working under him/her
- Impactful support to SMEs within the EDC ecosystem
- Demonstrated proactive service and care that SMEs have testified.
- Inspired resilience in the business owners and contributed to taking their business to different growth levels
- Demonstrated outstanding professional excellence.

Best Social Enterprise of the year:
Criteria
- Value proposition that aligns with current social needs
- Remarkable social impact made in the last one year.
- Evidence of significant social impact in their community
- An existing enterprise or initiative aimed at solving a health, environmental or social problem.
- Evidence of a strong management and operational team

Circularity Champion of the year:
Criteria
- Strong evidence of sustainability practices (such as reducing waste, conserving energy, and promoting environmental sustainability
- Business model that supports circularity
- Evidence of commitment to circularity
- Embedded practice of circularity in normal business operations
- Advocacy for circularity practices
- Profitable products from circularity

SME Most Friendly Bank of the Year:
Criteria
- A bank providing multi-level support for SMEs
- Ease of accessibility of services
- Creation of customer-friendly products
- Easy access to finance
- Proven understanding of SME challenges
- Good customer service/KYC
